Happy Halloweeeen!

I really should keep up with this blog more often. I've been spending a lot of time on Tumblr, I love how easy it is to share images on there. I promise I'll make more of an effort to keep up here though. It's a good way to keep in practice with writing.

 Anyways, I love Halloween. It's always been one of my favorite holidays (with Christmas beating it for the number one spot). My best costume(s) were the ones where I dressed as Jim Carrey. Well, as the Mask (for a few years in a row) and then as the Riddler. I was so young when they came out, and I idolized him. I'm sure I have pictures of me dressed up somewhere. I'll have to post them when I locate them.

My mother used to go all out decorating for Halloween, and we were one of those houses that gave out FULL candy bars. Yeah, people loved us. As I grew older I really enjoyed answering the door to the kids traveling the neighborhood. They were always so excited to get full candy bars. I'm sure their parents weren't appreciative though (hahahah!). The last two Halloweens have kind blown. Last year we got snowed in (thank you climate change) and this year we had Hurricane Sandy. I always wait til the last minute to get a costume and that usually means I don't end up with one at all. I love to dress up, but ever since leaving high school the invites to Halloween parties have dropped immensely. It makes me sad. It's one of the few holidays that you can be absolutely ridiculous and get away with it. Not to mention that all the women's costumes sold have the prefix of "sexy". I mean, a woman's banana costume, and it was a tube dress. WTF?!?!

 When I get home, I must watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It's one of my favorite movies ever, and it's appropriate to watch for Halloween AND Christmas! Wheeeeee! Okay, signing off for now. I have to do more Mendellian genetics problems. Ugh.
